Miss California Carrie Prejean has ‘No Regrets’

The first runner-up Miss California USA Carrie Prejean raised eyebrows with her candid answer to a question about gay marriage during the Miss USA 2009 pageant.

Prejean says her answer cost her the crown but she stands by her answer. In an interview with FOXNews.com the 21-year-old beauty said that she had “no regrets” and was happy with the answer she gave regarding same sex marriage.

“I have nothing against gay people and I didn’t mean to offend anyone in my answer,” Prejean said.

During Sunday night’s Miss USA telecast Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton asked Prejean : “Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalise same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?”

Prejean said, “Well I think its great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think it should be between a man and a woman. Thank you very much.”

Perez later video-blogged about the incident calling her a “dumb b****.”
