USPS Postage Increase on Forever Stamps | USPS Rates
Effective May 11th, 2009, the United States Postal Service (USPS) will increase the price of Forever stamps from 42 cents to 44 cents.
Will you ever send a letter again?! More than likely. 2 cents, although an increase in the current postage rate (or should I say former) isn’t all that much. You’ll be paying more for your Forever stamps, but this usps postage increase won’t break the bank. That’s exactly what the government is relying on. Though, with rising fuel costs for mail delivery, this roughly 5% increase in postage will help to cover some of their increased costs.
So, if you wanted to stock up on those precious 42-centers, you’re too late! But be sure to head out and pick up a big ol’ stack of the new 44 cent Forever stamps, because who knows when they’ll decide to give us another increase.
