It’s not that we’ve overlooked it, but with “Heroes” gettting an early verbal commitment to a new season, we’ve concentrated our efforts more on helping boost the profile for “Chuck.”

However, we don’t want to overlook that “Heroes” will air the finale of its fourth volume and third season tonight at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.  And while many fans may have given up the series for dead months ago, the fourth installment of the series has been a rebound of sorts and, with the exception of the flashback on Angela Petrelli episode, has been enjoyable and fun to watch over the past several episodes.  (Pretty much from the point that Bryan Fuller returned to the writing staff with “Cold Snap” onward.)

The New York Times reports that Six Flags had a staggering $2.4 billion in debt and faced a payment of $300 million to preferred stockholders this August. Though the newly-installed management team has done a great job of cutting Six Flags’ net losses over the past 2 years, it wasn’t enough to counterbalance a 24% drop in revenue. And, because of the credit markets still largely frozen, Six Flags had a difficult time trying to offload their debt.

Since I’m not a big fan of roller coasters and other theme park rides, the fact that Six Flags recently filed for bankruptcy doesn’t really bother me.

Hollywood – Another interesting week awaits the American Idol Season 8 fans as the next week’s theme is “standards made famous by members of the original Rat Pack”. Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta and Matt Giraud will try to give the viewers some touch of “Vegas”. Rat Pack is a popular co-ed group from the early 50s and 60s, original members includes the legendary Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin and Joey Bishop. The Rat Pack often performed in Las Vegas, Nevada, the entertainment capital of the world.

B&W photos of Rat Pack are everywhere – and for the remaining finalists, they will try their best to go B&W too – in music! I can see another surprising Adam Lambert and an overacting Kris Allen next week. Danny Gokey dancing like a hippo and Allison rocking like a high school teener – kiidiiing! Chrysler Finally Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

The White House just announced that the third largest American automaker, Chrysler, will file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and enter an alliance with Fiat SpA (BIT:F). The bankruptcy case, which is expected to be quick and “surgical”, will take place in the United States Bankruptcy Court in New York, and the filing marks the first American automaker to try to restructure under Chapter 11 since 1933 when Studebaker filed. A senior White House official said the case would commence immediately and the government would provide Chrysler with $3 to $3.5 billion debtor-in-possession financing so it could continue with daily operations. After completion of its restructuring plans, Chrysler will receive $4.5 billion in financing to restart operations. The embattled member of the Detroit Three has already received $4.5 billion in aid from the federal government.

Following reports from late last night and early this morning that talks had broken down with lenders, Chrysler will officially announce its plan to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Thursday. Negotiations between Chrysler and at least three lenders went on through the night, but no agreement was reached.

The news was revealed to Automotive News by an unnamed Obama administration official. The official said the Treasury Department upped its Chrysler debt-swap offer to $2.25 billion – up from $2 billion – but was unable to reach an agreement with the holdout creditors.

Maybe people are starting to feel like Palin is being picked on a bit much. But, with her antics during the presidential election race, you really can’t blame anybody for making fun of her. I say keep the jokes comin’!

Critics are up in arms about the recent jokes David Letterman made about former Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin. Did Letterman go too far this time? I guess that’s up to you. Letterman remarked that Palin was going for the “slutty flight attendant look” on her recent trip to New York. He also took a stab at her daughter, joking that she “got knocked up by a New York Yankee”. in my opinion, they’re just jokes. Politicians are fair game.

Maybe people are starting to feel like Palin is being picked on a bit much. But, with her antics during the presidential election race, you really can’t blame anybody for making fun of her. I say keep the jokes comin’!

David Blaine has really pulled a rabbit out of his hat this time.

A source close to the couple confirms that the romantic engagement occurred on Blaine’s birthday, April 4: “Alizee’s a great girl. She’s really smart and talented,” the source said. “They are so in love.”

Justice David Souter has told the White House that he will retire from the Supreme Court at the end of the court’s term in June, a source said Thursday night.

The source spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak for Souter.

Speculation that the 69-year-old justice will be stepping down has been fueled by his failure to appoint law clerks from the fall term.

Radio Disney will present the world premiere of a new song from Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” on SATURDAY, MAY 2 (6:00 p.m., ET/3:00 p.m., PT) during its Planet Premiere feature. “I Wanna Know You,” a duet by Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana and American Idol’s David Archuleta, will be featured in a new episode of the hit series on Sunday, May 3 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Miley Cyrus is the youngest ever recording artist with four No. 1 albums in less than three years. “Hannah Montana The Movie” soundtrack from Walt Disney Records marks the fourth No. 1 album for the 16-year-old singer/songwriter.

The rap battle started with one of Eminem’s tracks from the new album, entitled “Bagpipes from Baghdad”. Let’s just say Em tears up Nick Cannon and his wife, Mariah Carey – and not in a good way.

The long-awaited album from the long-dormant white rapper is slated to hit stores on May 19th. I’m sure the backlash from “Bagpipes from Baghdad” will only get worse from there. So, anyway, Nick Cannon did not take lightly to Eminem’s diss of him and his wife. He responded to media outlets all over, and even made a scathing post on his own blog.

Infamous mafia princess, Victoria Gotti, has been trying to sell her Old Westbury, NY mansion since 2005. Since then, the price has dropped from $4.4 million down to $3.2 million. She first put the home up for sale after it was used in the filming of her tv show, “Growing Up Gotti”. The show followed the sometimes-exciting lives of Victoria and her three Gotti sons.

JP Morgan Chase put the Old Wetbury mansion up for foreclosure after Ms. Gotti missed a series of mortgage payments, which were a whopping $25K a month. They report that she still owes around $650,000 on the home, and obviously cannot pay.

The coach released a statement through the university last night after being contacted by The Courier-Journal yesterday afternoon.

Pitino gave no specifics on the actions he claims are being taken against him, but said in the statement, “I intend to vigorously defend my reputation and the character of my family against any criminal scheme to extort money.”

Baseball. Finally. You know it is almost time for THE season to start when the baseball games start coming out. MLB 2K9 makes a return this year and has one goal in mind: Closing the gap between itself and MLB: The Show. Xbox 360 fans have no choice, which blows, but PS3 gamers do and they chose The Show in overwhelming numbers. Last years iteration, MLB 2K8 was not bad, but it was not great. They completely revamped the pitching mechanic and it was a disaster. It was easier to throw a curve ball in reality than do it on the virtual diamond. Did MLB 2K9 make huge strides this year? It did and we are very excited.

The demo that was released this week lets you play a 3 inning game between last years World Series teams, the Rays and the Phillies. You will notice right away how good the player models look. As an avid baseball fan, one who watches upwards of 150 games a year, thank you DVR, you know what the players look like. You know their stances, their nuances, and in Carl Crawford’s case, his neck tattoo. All are present in 2K9. The hitting is a breeze. As long as your timing is right, you can make contact. Hitting has been too hard over the years and I am glad that they made it easier because baseball games are truly won and lost on the mound.

The pitching, as it seems, has been dumbed down and that was needed. You still need to direct the RS in the direction that the pitch calls for, often a first direction, followed by the second. It seems hard at first, but it catches on quick. There will be a pitching tutorial in the full release (I said full release) version, so you can master it with some practice. The mechanic itself has not so much changed, but it is MUCH more forgiving. You don’t need the exact 270 degree circle to get your slider to move. You also don’t need the release point which was the death knell of last year. The throwing to bases is tough, but fair. You need to have a checks and balances system and they do. The field has a nice overhead view from behind home plate, so you can easily see your outfielders. You can throw fastballs without them landing in the upper deck, which has also been a disaster before. When Matt and I played last year online, we made a pact to throw one fastball for each AB to make the game sort of realistic. You can only take so many eephus pitches before you lose your mind.

Another year, another Indy 500. For those of you who are interested in the Indy 500, this years winner was Helio Castroneves. This is Helio’s third win in the famous Nascar race, where he’s really making a name for himself. GoDaddy spokeswoman and my personal favorite, Danica Patrick, took third in the race. Unfortunately, Danica was never really close to leading, and ultimately ended up in third place, finishing behind Dan Wheldon.

We’ve all been waiting quite some time for HBO’s hit series Entourage to come back on and bring a little joy to our Sunday nights before the Monday through Friday “battle” begins. To no real surprise of anyone, Vince and his crew are back on top at the start of season 6. In the last episode of season 5, Vince lands a gig as the second lead in a Martin Scorcese-directed flick call Gatsby. Gatsby is the story of race car driver and founder of Ferrari, Enzo Ferrari.

Vince and the rest of the guys are back in a beautiful California mansion, living it up, waiting for the premier of the highly-acclaimed flick. One big thing to look for in this season are the addition of Ari’s old friend Andrew Pressman, to the staff at the Miller Gold Agency. Will they go on to make millions and recapture the success they were destined to have years ago? My hunch is that there’s only room for one alpha male at Miller Gold.

Another interesting twist in Season 6 is that Turtle actually has a girlfriend! Not just any girlfriend, but Soprano’s star Jamie Lynn Siegler. Nice catch, Turtle! Were rooting for you – don’t mess this one up.

On of my favorite estates in America, the Biltmore Estate, was featured on the CBS Sunday Morning show this morning. For those of you who don’t know your history, the Biltmore is the largest privately-owned home in the U.S. It was originally built and owned by railroad tycoon George Washington Vanderbilt in the late 1800’s.

Located in Asheville, North Carolina, the 175,000 square foot home is truly a wonder. It’s surrounded by opulent gardens and sculptures on over 8,000 acres of prime real estate. The property also includes a winery, a hotel and several restaurants and shops. Because of it’s distinction as the largest private home in the United States and its opulent characteristics, it has become a popular tourist destination for travelers from all over the world.

I’ve found the Biltmore’s website to be particularly helpful in giving me little tidbits of information that I didn’t know about the estate. It also features some truly magnificent pictures of the estate. If you’d like to learn more about the Biltmore or even book a trip there, check out their website!

No Doubt appeared on The Today Show this morning and performed two songs, “Spiderwebs” and “Don’t Speak” from the breakout album, Tragic Kingdom. No Doubt had two albums before Tragic Kingdom, including a self-titled album which featured their first music video, Trapped in a Box, but nothing that had the monumental success of Tragic Kingdom in 1995, which was written by lead vocalist, Gwen Stefani. She apparently wrote many of the songs about her seven-year relationship and subsequent breakup with fellow band member, Tony Kanal.

No Doubt will tour in the summer of 2009 with Paramore, The Sounds, Janelle Monáe, and Bedouin Soundclash while finishing their upcoming album, which is set for release in 2010. To promote the No Doubt tour, the band is giving away their entire music catalog free as a digital download with purchase of top tier seating.

As the story goes, three masked men armed with knives emerged from the surrounding woods and smashed the windows of the Jeep. They reportedly got away with around $7300 in cash and goods, including a BlackBerry (boo hoo).

Ament tried to bail and started running from the scene, but one of the masked men caught up to him and tossed him to the ground. The suspect then plucked his backpack, which included his passport. The suspects then fled back into the woods and hopped into a black Nissan Maxima, their supposed getaway car. Security cameras outside of the studio captured the incident but are unable to identify the suspects since they cleverly wore masks. Gee, criminals sure are getting smart these days!

ACL lineup features Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, Mos Def

The eighth edition of the Austin City Limits Music Festival is still about six months away, but the midnight release of the lineup may generate a lot of talk around Austin.

ACL 2009 headliners include Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, Beastie Boys, Kings of Leon and Ben Harper and Relentless7. Other bands include Thievery Corporation, Mos Def, Sonic Youth, John Legend, Lilly Allen, K’Naan and The Decemberists.

MEMPHIS (AP) — Tennessee is denying that anyone connected with Memphis has spoken with either coach Bruce Pearl or its athletic director about replacing John Calipari as the Tigers’ basketball coach.
WMC-TV reported on its website Thursday that sources said Memphis had offered Pearl a seven-year, $21 million package to take over for Calipari. Calipari was introduced Wednesday as Kentucky’s new coach and the highest paid in college basketball with an eight year, $31.65 million deal.

“No one has talked to Memphis,” Tennessee spokeswoman Tiffany Carpenter told The Associated Press.

Tennessee planned a statement later Thursday.

“We view this as the Fox finale,” Salzman told the Daily News. “We’ve had 14 incredible seasons with Fox … but we are in discussions with other networks about continuing the show, though we don’t have anything definitive to talk about now.”

MADtv, the liveaction sketch comedy show on Fox, aired what is to be their last episode ever…at least on Fox. Fox announced that they were cancelling MADtv in December, and that this was to be their final episode. Executive producer, David Salzman, still has hope that another network will pick up the show and they can continue their work. The series finale on Fox airs tonight at 11pm est. If you’re a fan, check it out, ’cause it could be the last episode ever!

heroes season finale – In our relenteless campaign to get “Chuck” renewed, it might look like we’ve overlooked the season finale of “Heroes” this evening.

It’s not that we’ve overlooked it, but with “Heroes” gettting an early verbal commitment to a new season, we’ve concentrated our efforts more on helping boost the profile for “Chuck.”

However, we don’t want to overlook that “Heroes” will air the finale of its fourth volume and third season tonight at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.  And while many fans may have given up the series for dead months ago, the fourth installment of the series has been a rebound of sorts and, with the exception of the flashback on Angela Petrelli episode, has been enjoyable and fun to watch over the past several episodes.  (Pretty much from the point that Bryan Fuller returned to the writing staff with “Cold Snap” onward.)

The series 5 season finale of hit TV show, “House”, aired last night at 8PM EST on Fox. Not my favorite show on TV, but I watched the finale anyway so I can write about it. Here’s a brief synopsis I put together:

Main character, House, and the rest of his team, are intrigued by a patient named Scott, whose left brain and right brain operate independently of each other. For anyone in the medical field out there, this is quite an oddity. Because of Scott’s condition, he develops two clashing personalities, which prove difficult for House and his team to diagnose. The team uses questionable, yet necessary, tactics to get Scott to commit to testing to help him out.

Meanwhile, House runs into relationship issues with Cuddy, who is acting quite different today than the night before (wink, wink). Throughout the episode, the tension builds between the two and eventually leads to House announcing to a lobby full of people that they had sex the night before! Score, House. Cuddy responds by firing him. Bad, House…bad. The aftermath? House ends up getting taken to the Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital by Wilson.

The season 5 finale of the hit tv series “Lost” airs tonight on ABC. The finale will run 2 hours and is sure to be full of moments of extreme tension, followed by extended commercial breaks! I am a huge fan of Lost and really psyched about the finale. Season 5 has been amazing so far; it’s the only season I remember where there has literally not been one dull episode.

Like all of the Lost season finales, and even the episodes for that matter, we can expect to learn a LOT about what’s been happening. Many mysteries will be solved and questions answered; but as is typical, the writers will leave us with even more to ponder through the long break between the finale and the start of season 6.

The finale, title “The Incident: Parts 1 & 2″, is a very ominous title, to say the least. What exactly is the “incident”? It likely has something to do with a hydrogen bomb, time travel, death and deception. On a positive note, the writers will surely throw in their underlying themes of love and friendship.

It’s not that we’ve overlooked it, but with “Heroes” gettting an early verbal commitment to a new season, we’ve concentrated our efforts more on helping boost the profile for “Chuck.”

However, we don’t want to overlook that “Heroes” will air the finale of its fourth volume and third season tonight at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.  And while many fans may have given up the series for dead months ago, the fourth installment of the series has been a rebound of sorts and, with the exception of the flashback on Angela Petrelli episode, has been enjoyable and fun to watch over the past several episodes.  (Pretty much from the point that Bryan Fuller returned to the writing staff with “Cold Snap” onward.)

The series 5 season finale of hit TV show, “House”, aired last night at 8PM EST on Fox. Not my favorite show on TV, but I watched the finale anyway so I can write about it. Here’s a brief synopsis I put together:

Main character, House, and the rest of his team, are intrigued by a patient named Scott, whose left brain and right brain operate independently of each other. For anyone in the medical field out there, this is quite an oddity. Because of Scott’s condition, he develops two clashing personalities, which prove difficult for House and his team to diagnose. The team uses questionable, yet necessary, tactics to get Scott to commit to testing to help him out.

Meanwhile, House runs into relationship issues with Cuddy, who is acting quite different today than the night before (wink, wink). Throughout the episode, the tension builds between the two and eventually leads to House announcing to a lobby full of people that they had sex the night before! Score, House. Cuddy responds by firing him. Bad, House…bad. The aftermath? House ends up getting taken to the Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital by Wilson.

The season 5 finale of the hit tv series “Lost” airs tonight on ABC. The finale will run 2 hours and is sure to be full of moments of extreme tension, followed by extended commercial breaks! I am a huge fan of Lost and really psyched about the finale. Season 5 has been amazing so far; it’s the only season I remember where there has literally not been one dull episode.

Like all of the Lost season finales, and even the episodes for that matter, we can expect to learn a LOT about what’s been happening. Many mysteries will be solved and questions answered; but as is typical, the writers will leave us with even more to ponder through the long break between the finale and the start of season 6.

The finale, title “The Incident: Parts 1 & 2″, is a very ominous title, to say the least. What exactly is the “incident”? It likely has something to do with a hydrogen bomb, time travel, death and deception. On a positive note, the writers will surely throw in their underlying themes of love and friendship.

I loved cowboy shows and movies and Bonanza fit right in. I still remember that he died of cancer back in 1991. He was also known for his starring role in Little House on the Prarie. Michael Landon was only 54 when he died.

Mark Landon made it ’til 60 before he passed. The immediate cause(s) of his death are unknown at the time, or they simply haven’t been released to the public. He wasn’t suffering from any grave illness as far as I know. I’ll be sure to give an update here on Top Buzz once we learn more.

SAN ANTONIO — Efren Ramirez is happy to credit his scene-stealing role as class president candidate Pedro in “Napoleon Dynamite” with launching his career.

“People love it. They go bananas when they recognize me,” says Ramirez, who stars in “Crank: High Voltage,” which opened on Friday.

“As an actor you always want to challenge yourself. You want to show the audience something different, and playing Pedro was that for me,” says Ramirez, 35, who underwent three months of kung fu and gymnastics training for “Crank: High Voltage.”

It’s truly a sad day for music fans all over the world, as we learned that pop icon Michael Jackson was pronounced dead today. At just 50 years old, MJ suffered a cardiac arrest and doctors weren’t able to bring him back. A staff member at Jackson’s Holmby Hills home called 911 when they found him unconscious. He was immediately rushed to the UCLA medical center, but attempts to revive him through CPR proved to be futile.

Jackson’s amazing career spanned decades, starting when he was just a child with his siblings performing in the Jackson 5, all the way through to his highly successful career as a solo artist.

Last night at the MTV Video Music Awards, the fans got quite a show from Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘Bruno’ character. Bruno is a very in-your-face homosexual who gets his laughs in by making straight guys feel really, really uncomfortable. Eminem was his latest victim, and he was not happy about it.

Bruno came down from cable attached to the ceiling, dressed as some sort of angel/fairy and landed right on Eminem’s face – bare-assed! Eminem looked completely surprised and appalled – his entourage immediately threw Bruno off of him and started to push him around, while Eminem repeatedly cursed Bruno. The act did not appear to be staged at all, and Eminem certainly looked surprised. After Bruno flew away, Em and his crew immediately got up from their seats and stormed out of the show.

The dialogue is full of clichés — “Lock and load, people. It’s crunch time” — but the environmentalist message is heartfelt. Some battle sequences look like a pastel-colored video game, but Battle is ambitious.

The opening images introduce the planet of Terra, where the peaceful inhabitants live gravity-defying lives filled with art and music. Mala (Evan Rachel Wood) flies around with best pal Senn (Justin Long).

It’s all a part of the game on the American Idol singing competition. Episode 31 featured the seven finalists singing songs from the theme “Disco Night”. It was reportedly taken at a bar called Legends on April 18 near the Gosselins’ home about 90 minutes outside of Philadelphia.

Just months after this story hit the media (which Jon denied), Jon was seen out partying with another mystery woman, whom he referred to as “babe.”

Apparently, while his nagging wife Kate Gosselin was on a book tour, Jon was hitting the club with another woman. And UsWeekly scored pics!

They report, “Jon Gosselin arrived at the club at 11:20 p.m. and by 2 a.m. ‘could barely walk’ as he exited the less-public back entrance of Legends Lounge — near the family’s $1.3-million home in Wernersville, Pennsylvania — on April 18, a fellow partier tells Us Weekly. The dad of 8 — kids are twins Madelyn and Cara, 8, and 5-year-old sextuplets, Aaden, Joel, Collin, Hannah, Leah and Alexis — was overheard yelling, ‘Hey, babe! Babe! Give me my jacket!’ before climbing into his Nissan Nismo. (She complied.) As cameras began snapping, he panicked, urging his female friend to ‘get in the car!’ before speeding off hastily — without even turning on the headlights.”

The odds of finding something to claim are better than ever, Unclaimed Property Manager Patti Wilson said. That’s because the unclaimed property database contains more than three million names that have been collected since the 1950s, and about $600 million in unclaimed property.

The Choking Game is a misunderstood activity causing death and suffering for thousands of families worldwide. It often begins with high-achieving teens choking each other as a way to get high without the risk of getting caught with drugs or alcohol. It ends with thousands of kids dying or suffering permanent brain damage each year.
