Oxana Malaya was a Ukrainian who was found in 1991 when she was 8 years old behaving oddly like a dog rather than a human being. Not only does she barks and behave like a dog, but Oxana Malaya thinks like a dog because she was abandoned by her parents that she lived in a kennel where she lived with these animals for some time.

A relatively famous case is that Amala and Kamala of India circa 1920, who were reportedly truly raised by wolves. They were “rescued” and “adopted” by one Rev. Joseph Amrito Lal Singh, rector of a local orphanage. Being past critical ages for socialization and language learning, the girls experienced great difficulty in human society.

There have been many cases in more recent years including Ivan Mishukov, found living with a pack of street dogs in Russia, or Oxana Malaya (pictured above, image from Channel 4, UK), who spent a few years living with dogs after her deadbeat parents abandoned her.

Severe storms beginning late April 27 into Tuesday have caused flooding in parts of the Houston area.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Cypress Creek at Stuebner-Airline Road area, where it says record flooding has occurred, but expects river levels to decrease throughout the day.

Earlier thunderstorms dropped five to seven inches of rain over the northwest Houston area, and run-off produced the rise in water at Stuebner-Airline Road.

Former NFL football player, Shane Dronett, was found dead at his Duluth home on Wednesday. Dronett was 38. Read more on Shane Dronett’s death below.

Call of Duty: World at War’s Map Pack 1 was downloaded a million times in its first weekend so a second map pack is a foregone conclusion. Treyarch officially announced it today and revealed what sort of locales the new maps will feature.

Like Map Pack 1, Map Pack 2 will have three normal multiplayer maps and one zombie co-op map. The announcement gives a brief description of each: “Battle to control the river bridge in ‘Banzai’ – a bright jungle map featuring a waterfall and hidden caves. In ‘Corrosion’ face down your enemy in a shattered train yard, and in “Sub Pens” wipe the monsoon rain from your eyes as you struggle over a bombed-out submarine base. The Zombies make a return in ‘Shi No Numa’ (Zombie Swamp) featuring Perk machines, the deadly new Wunderwaffe DG-2, new Achievements / Trophies… and flaming Hell Hounds!”

Map Pack 2 will be released for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in June. There was a two week delay between the console and PC release of the first map pack so we could be looking at a similar situation here, too. The first map pack is free for PC owners but costs 800 Microsoft Points ($10) for the PS3/360.

Yang Peiyi, the 7 year old Chinese girl with the perfect voice, was chosen to perform the Chinese National Anthem “Hymn to the Motherland” at the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, but because of Peiyi’s unattractive buck teeth, another (prettier) girl, 9 year old Lin Miaoke, went on stage instead and lip-synced to Peiyi’s voice.

Infamous mafia princess, Victoria Gotti, has been trying to sell her Old Westbury, NY mansion since 2005. Since then, the price has dropped from $4.4 million down to $3.2 million. She first put the home up for sale after it was used in the filming of her tv show, “Growing Up Gotti”. The show followed the sometimes-exciting lives of Victoria and her three Gotti sons.

JP Morgan Chase put the Old Wetbury mansion up for foreclosure after Ms. Gotti missed a series of mortgage payments, which were a whopping $25K a month. They report that she still owes around $650,000 on the home, and obviously cannot pay.

The New York Post goes into more depth on Gotti’s foreclosure. For those of you who don’t know the mafia princess, she is the daughter of the late (and great?) mafia don, John Gotti, nicknamed the “Dapper Don”. The 46 year old Victoria stopped making payments for two years straight starting in September of 2006, which eventually led to JP Morgan Chase announcing the foreclosure.

My good friend and fellow blogger, Nicky Papers, was the first to report the discovery of the second so-called “Montauk Monster” on his website, Montauk-Monster.com. having the most official website on the montauk monster on the web, Mr. Papers get lots of inquires about the beast, and even some about hoaxes.

So when he was contacted by a local L.I. couple claiming to have found another “monster”, he had to drive out to the shores of Southold and see it for himself. Nicky was amazed at what he saw, but also disgusted. The lifeless, rotting and unidentifiable corpse smelled something awful. Being the owner of the official montauk monster website, Nicky had to take as many pics and even videos as he could stomach! Check them out here.

Experts came to the conclusion that the monster was actually a partially decomposed raccoon, based on it’s bone structure and other physical features. Barcelona had won the title back in 1992 and again in 2006. Pep Guardiola played on the winning ‘92 team, so he gets to have this experience from two sides, which makes it an even great victory.

A massive Basking Shark washed up on Gilgo Beach in Long Island, NY this morning. A far cry from the mysterious Montauk Monster, the shark measured around 20 feet long and weighed about a ton! Crowds gathered around the shark, as the surf tossed around it’s lifeless body on the sand.

Unlike other sharks such as the Great White Shark, the Basking Shark is generally considered harmless, especially to humans. Because of their tiny teeth and the fact that they generally feed on plankton, they’ve never been seen as a threat to swimmers.

Basking Sharks typically hangout in the waters of the Northeast U.S. during the summer months, then head down south to warmer waters once the winter hits. Though they’re common around Long Island beaches and other beaches around the coast, the site of a 20 foot shark washed up on shore is still quite amazing!

The Washington State Department of Revenue will staff a booth at the home show at the Qwest Field Event Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 16, in conjunction with a promotion by radio station B97.3. The booth is located on the main floor near the show’s information center.

The odds of finding something to claim are better than ever, Unclaimed Property Manager Patti Wilson said. That’s because the unclaimed property database contains more than three million names that have been collected since the 1950s, and about $600 million in unclaimed property.

The Choking Game is a misunderstood activity causing death and suffering for thousands of families worldwide. RCMP Constable Annie Linteau says the session was held at the E-Panna investigators offices in Surrey so family members could see the volume of material that has been generated in the investigations. “Even I was surprised at the amount of information that has been gathered over the years, so the family members can now see why it is taking time to go through all of this information.”

Prince George, B.C.- Families of the 18 missing or murdered women who are part of the E-Pana investigation received an update from those investigators yesterday.
The all day session was the fifth since the task force was formed to examine the cases which were under the umbrella of what has become known as the “Highway of Tears” cases. The investigations was expanded to include several other cases that are not linked with Highway 16 but had similarities.

There were nearly 20 family members in attendance for the day long session.

Prince George, B.C.- Families of the 18 missing or murdered women who are part of the E-Pana investigation received an update from those investigators yesterday.
The all day session was the fifth since the task force was formed to examine the cases which were under the umbrella of what has become known as the “Highway of Tears” cases. The investigations was expanded to include several other cases that are not linked with Highway 16 but had similarities.

There were nearly 20 family members in attendance for the day long session.

RCMP Constable Annie Linteau says the session was held at the E-Panna investigators offices in Surrey so family members could see the volume of material that has been generated in the investigations. “Even I was surprised at the amount of information that has been gathered over the years, so the family members can now see why it is taking time to go through all of this information.”
