Stalkers, lower ratings, Kara DioGuardi, and crew members falling from set pieces!
A mere 2 hours before the show’s live broadcast on Tuesday, stage manager Debbie Williams fell from Ryan Seacrest retractable staircase, suffering a gash to the bone on her leg that required a trip to the emergency room and stitches. A large tower also fell, littering the stage with shattered glass.

American Idol has been rumored to be fixed since the show started. Of course in a situation like A.I. there is little to be done to prove the scandal.
However, one of the staff members for the show is running their mouth. Spies lurk everywhere, even the Idol set, and caught the ear of one. The furious staffer was bitching about the fix. Apparently the producers for the show have picked the Final 4 from the current 11 hopefuls. A Gatecrasher spy reported the ramblings of the disgruntled worker.

Adam Lambert Heads to Top 5 on AMERICAN IDOL!
Last night AMERICAN IDOL took us back to the days and nights of “staying alive” as this week the show presented, DISCO NIGHT! As usual Adam Lambert did not disappoint, he performed a dynamic arrangement of the Yvonne Elliman hit “If I Can’t Have You.” He acted like a goth ‘Tony Manero’ and made the song his own.
Tonight on the results show America agreed as Lambert made it to the next round and is now a member of the Top 5 finalists. Lambert remarked upon learning he was once again “safe” – that he had “sung the lyrics honestly” and thought that people would like his take on “If I Can’t Have You.”
Both Lil’ Rounds and Anoop Desai were given the “hustle” and sent home.
Continue ReadingFreda Payne American Idol
Was “Band of Gold” by Freda Payne a disco song? banc of gold was considered a disco song. The original Freda Payne version and the Sylvester version as well as other covers and mixes of the song received regular play at any well respected discoteque during the 1970’s; of course you had to BE there! The last thing he did was “get down tonight”. And Freda Payne’s sound had little to do with the AI sound system. She was out of breath and struggling. Thelma sounded good for a “mature woman” and even though the dress was a little young, she looked good!!! Freda Payne – Band Of Gold Freda Payne sings “Band Of Gold.” Wow! This is one sexy performer. And a really hot performance. What man could sleep in a seperate room from Freda? And where did she get that ass? I could only dream. Thanks Freda. Some other thoughts on the night… Paula’s night. In a first for “Idol,” Paula does what Paula used to do best – choreograph. The group dance – the Jackson’s “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)” – was a Paula creation, and as group dances went, this one was success. Nice moves (but, umm, were all those lips moving with the sounds coming out what’s called “lip-syncing?” Just asking.) Disco night at the Bellagio. Or the Luxor. Or… “Idol.” Who could tell…I mean, Harry Wayne Casey, of KC and the Sunshine Band? Thelma Houston, or Freda Payne singing the song that only Freda Payne can sing (by law), “Band of Gold.” Another bunch of good “Idol” moments. And David Archuletta. Memory fails, but was his voice that husky last year? Or was it just a little bit of tour rust? He sang “Touch My Hand,” from last fall, promoted some forthcoming tour with Demi Lovato, and gave the bottom two a pep talk. They needed one.”

Disco Week on American Idol Top 7 April 21, 2009 gave us another signature performance from the American Idol frontrunner, Adam Lambert If I Can’t Have You video which we can watch as we see the star power of the Season 8 favorite.
Bee Gees If I Can’t Have You lyrics and song were written by the members of the group, Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. As sung by Yvonne Elliman, the song was immortalized in the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, and as such takes its place among iconic hits of the disco era. The song was covered by Kim Wilde in 1993.
Now with the Adam Lambert If I Can’t Have You performance, the singer gave the song his characteristic emotionally intense delivery for which he has become known as much as the spirited rock star arena style performing which brings the audience to their feet. The tender side of the performer is equally mesmerizing as the singer dons slicked back hair and a suit, evoking an iconic Elvis Presley look.
